No mimosas or Miller Light drinks here! By “drink up”…I mean water. Some are ok with it, others are not likely to want to drink water without some kind of flavor. I hear it all the time from my father, how important it is to drink water to stay hydrated in general. The same thought goes when practicing yoga. It is a good idea to drink before class, during and after class.

Over the years of taking classes, at the beginning of them, I would sometimes think the class was going to be laid back. Before I knew it I would wonder how long the sweating and human pretzel poses would go on for! Despite this statement, my love for doing yoga continues. Also, during classes, students are typically encouraged to drink water here and there. As you continue to practice yoga, I encourage you to always have a cup of water by your side. To keep myself hydrated. I like to fill up my water bottle with water that is room temperature. I like to use a water bottle with a lid that lifts to open and close. This prevents spills when you accidentally knock over your water bottle in class as you transition to a different pose.

Something else that can help you transition from pose to pose during yoga is what you wear. A cozy sweatshirt to start class until you get warmed up is very helpful. I even like to use one of the sleeves for extra relaxation to cover my eyes if a class involves a resting pose at the end. Using a T-shirt or tank top allows your body to release heat when holding poses or flowing from pose to pose.

I recommend the mentioned water bottle (travel mug) and shirts from my website, since they are comfortable to use and allow you to have a smooth yoga practice.
